My Fav Line In Book •

“She would have warned him if she could, but it probably wouldn’t have done any good anyway. It’s hard to explain how it feels to have every cell and nerve in your body on fire, electrocuted and imploding, all at the same time.”

My Review •

This book was not what I was expecting in the absolute best way possible. I read the genre and went ok…dystopian medical thriller got it. Peak my interest why don’t ya. But no…not straight forward. I was hooked from the very start. There was spice ( SO surprised ), there were twists and turns galore, there was friends to lovers, there was he falls first, there was forbidden love…like I’m sorry? My fav fantasy tropes but in a thriller? SHOOKETH.

If I could, I would immediately erase this from my brain and read it again…our minds are like a computer so all I would need to do is a hard reset…right ? ( fellow readers of this book I know you’ll get this reference )

This was beyond entertaining. Thank you to BookSirens for granting me permission to read this, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review on this book. No truth serum needed here! I am VERY happy I selected this book as an ARC.

Genesis - the Consortium, proved to be a highly entertaining, gripping, absorbing and extremely fascinating read, being a cleverly constructed, sci/fi semi-dystopian adventure that successfully delivering on themes such as power, control, emotional, mental and physical abuse, telepathy and mind-altering intelligence.

Lots of great relatable characters embedded in a quite unique, strong storyline provided lots of action and interesting sub-plots, and which was written in such a skilful way as to keep the reader to keep wanting to read more about the evil state of affairs that were taking place in this nightmarish take on human science advancement under the secret regime operating within this new US World Order.

I wish Amelia, and her band of close friends, every success with their future adventures, and I thoroughly intend to join them on their further travels in their quest to make our world a better place to live, thrive and prosper but, most of all to actually just… survive, and be allowed to be our natural selves!

Literary Titan

The Consortium Genesis, by B. A. Chapman, is a compelling sci-fi novel that delves into the dark world of a secret society known as the Consortium.  Chapman's writing style is both engaging and impactful. The author skillfully introduces the background stories and the abuses faced by the inductees, capturing the absolute terror experienced by the victims with striking realism. The portrayal of the sickening practices within the Consortium is so vivid and believable that it almost feels like it transcends fiction. The storyline is well-crafted, with believable characters who possess their own faults and quirks. The novel's pacing is another strength. From the tense moments of Amelia's rescue to the intricate explanations of The Consortium's operations, Chapman maintains a steady rhythm that keeps readers on edge. The scenes of interrogation and the detectives' growing realization of the horrifying truth are particularly well-crafted, blending suspense with a creeping sense of dread.

The inclusion of detailed processes, like the induction of new subjects and the creation of a controlled working class, adds layers of authenticity and horror to the story, making it not just a thriller but a deep dive into a meticulously constructed nightmare. It is important to note that the book contains graphic depictions of violence, abuse, torture, and trauma, and readers should be aware of these potential triggers.

I recommend The Consortium Genesis to those who enjoy medical sci-fi novels involving extreme human experimentation. The book lives up to its subtitle, "A Psychological Horror Thriller and Dystopian Science Fiction Novel," and offers a gripping and thought-provoking read.

B. A. Chapman bursts onto the scene of science fiction/dystopian horror with the first novel in The Consortium trilogy, Genesis. This story is not only possible but, in many ways, is seemingly inevitable in our future real world. The inroads made by Artificial Intelligence combined with human evil so deranged as to reach the outer limits of graphic and realistic detail are evident. Chapman's word-smithing ability is so advanced as to create fantastic scenes clearly within the scope of that all-important story-writing form of verisimilitude—a sense of reality. As new characters join the plot, Chapman establishes their credibility while maintaining a sense of anticipation for each character's development and internal role within the action, a skill not often seen in first-time authors but evident in Chapman's writing. The Consortium: Genesis is sure to be a hit, and readers of science fiction, horror fans, and followers of dystopian thrillers will eat this up, eager for book two which I also hope will be published sooner than later.

B.A. Chapman’s The Consortium: Genesis is innovative, scientifically sound, and depicts the author's creativity. A cast of realistic, interesting, yet disturbing characters challenges the reader's perception of the protagonist's mental, physical, and emotional turmoil. The narrative is skillful and engaging, containing explicit language, sexual situations, and graphic violence that enhance the plot's cleverness and originality. The vivid descriptions of the atrocities conducted within the laboratories will leave the reader feeling intimidated by the realistic possibilities. Horror, love, suffering, revenge, and justice are all part of this action-packed adventure. Having been immersed and curious as to what will happen next, the cliffhanger ending will leave the reader wanting more. This book will appeal to fans of dark science fiction and brilliant crime stories!
