Hi there!  Thought I'd do something a little different than the standard blah blah blah you usually find on bios ... basically, the boring muckety-muck that tells you a whole lot of nuthin.  Well, you won't find that kind of balderdash here!  Okay, well, maybe just a little ...

First, something about myself.  I've always had a passion for writing.  I love the heck out of fiction, and I basically lived at the library way back when.  To give you a hint about my age, when I was growing up, even in the big city there were about six TV channels and they all stopped broadcasting at midnight.  [I know, right?!]

Personal computers were still the stuff of science fiction, along with doors that opened all by themselves when you got close to them ... heck, that was the kind of crazy sci fi stuff you saw on Star Trek, for cryin' out loud!  Not real life!  What kind of witchcraft are you talkin' about, Will Robinson?!

Fast forward a bit and I'm still writing.  Even took a creative writing course in high school, as well as a couple of classes in college for a bit.  But I got a bit put off by professors that were all about the rules and following the rules and sticking to the rules in a creative writing class which, to me, took all the creativity out of creative writing.

Then life happened, as it has a habit of doing, and not according to plan.  A marriage, a couple of kids and a divorce later, I somehow wound up spending a little over three decades as a legal secretary.  (I still have no idea how that happened.)  Now that I'm closing in on retirement age, I have the urge to get creative again.  And do something I really, really enjoy doing.

Yup, you guessed it.  I'm all about the writing now.

I've been told I'm pretty good at it, but I'll let you be the judge of that.  Granted, I'm no Stephen King (my favorite author, BTW) ... but I can spin a decent yarn or two.

I do want to point out that while The Consortium is a dystopian sci fi horror/thriller type of story, it's not all just doom and gloom. That would simply not be fun or interesting, nor something I would want to read myself.  There is also a lot of the feel good stuff as well.

There's romance, action, love, superhuman abilities, drama, sorrow, and of course, regular people facing seemingly insurmountable odds.  Yes, there's also the horror of the atrocities humans can inflict on each other for various reasons.  The justifications people can come up with to excuse inexcusable behavior is mind blowing.  We see it every day.  This story has it all, including overcoming adversity in all ways, types, shapes and sizes.

The Consortium isn't the only story I've written, but it is my first full-length novel.  And while I have been fortunate enough to have never run into any members of The Consortium - at least, not to my knowledge - I do have the privilege of being able to invite you into Amelia's world.  I hope I have done her story justice, and I hope you enjoy the journey.  We sincerely appreciate you coming along with us for the ride.
